Grand Opening of  Garden & Market  May 26th Thursday

was a success and we will now be under the Park Pavilion in downtown New Douglas weekly on Thursdays from 4 - 7 p.m.  The Concession stand is open for business those nights for a picnic before or after shopping to support the Township Park.   We still have door prizes that weren't awarded so will be giving them away on June 2nd.

ABOUT The New Douglas Village Market


New Douglas, Illinois will host a village market weekly on Thursdays from 4 - 7 p.m. providing locally grown and developed products available to all Madison, Bond, and Macoupin County residents and anyone from any area willing to participate in our market.

 

 The covered market will be held under the pavillion at the Community Park.  Playground equipment is available for children playing, restrooms and drinking fountains, and potential for picnic dinners after shopping are all options with this new market venue. 

 

The Village Market is a member of the Illinois Farmer's Market Association and will be offering educational and nutritional programs as part of the market as well as potential cooking demonstrations to help residents learn new recipes for products available in the outdoor market. 

 

Location:  New Douglas, Illinois is located at Exit 37 off I 55 - 4 miles east to Main Street, turn right and the market will be on the right side of the street.

There will be many varieties of plants, herbs, and fruit in the community garden giving members of the village opportunities to try some new veggies to decide if you like them or if you never want them in your home garden.  It will be a great place to try things and demonstrate new techniques for growing, managing, and harvesting food for all to share.
